Providing Compassionate, Patient-centered Care
The forerunner of the Hospital was Tsukushigaoka Yojoen, established by Shibasaburo Kitasato in 1893. To this day the Kitasato philosophy continues to be compassionate, patient-centered care. This spirit can be seen in the practice of interdisciplinary, cohesive team medicine and in a holistic approach to healing manifest in the many paintings on display on hospital walls which help create a favorable healing environment. In addition to emphasizing preventive medicine, theHospital provides cutting-edge healthcare in such fields as cancer, while at the same time proactively contributing to the health and welfare of the local community.
